Our journey began in 1999, when we noticed that aquarium design had remained largely unchanged for over a century. As passionate enthusiasts, we were disheartened by this lack of innovation.

Over time, we pondered the needs of both fish and aquarium owners, focusing on the fundamental aspects of a perfect aquarium. We decided to break free from the constraints of traditional design and create an entirely new type of aquarium—thus, the biOrb was born.

To be completely honest, we only had a working prototype at the time, with no actual orders in hand. Although everyone we showed the biOrb to was excited and loved the concept, we were told that the public wouldn’t buy it. People just wanted regular glass boxes, or so we were informed.

Fortunately, not everyone shared this opinion. On October 19, 1999, a chilly day in England, our fax machine came to life with our very first order. Our dream was finally becoming a reality, and we began producing our innovative aquariums.

Shortly thereafter, we experienced a stroke of luck when the biOrb was featured on Blue Peter, a popular children’s TV show. With this newfound publicity and our one-of-a-kind product, our sales steadily grew. Within a year, we were able to expand our reach to different countries, opening a US office and exporting to Europe. In no time, biOrb became available in 22 countries around the world.

To meet customer demand, we continuously expanded our product offerings by introducing various sizes, shapes, and accessories. Over the years, more than 1.5 million people have experienced the joy of keeping fish in a biOrb aquarium.

Today, our company has grown beyond aquariums, developing terrariums, vivariums, and more. Each product embodies a unique approach to design, reminiscent of the original biOrb. We remain an invention-driven company at heart, dedicated to creating products that people are proud to own and eager to share with others.

There’s something truly magical about witnessing someone, especially a child, seeing one of our products for the first time. As their eyes widen and their heartbeats slow, the countless hours spent on design, development, and testing all become worthwhile.
